For many years, Shirley Beaudet focused on a career with children. After obtaining her degree in office automation in 1988, she then studied in school and social adaptation at the University of Quebec in Montreal. Well engaged in this path, she could not silence her desire to become a painter. She then interrupted her studies to work with Gisèle Rivard from 1994 to 1997, thus learning oil and acrylic painting. Then she went through Maurice Domingue's studio in 1997 to add watercolor to the list of her techniques. Finally, she studied with Pierrette Joly, in order to refine her technique and develop her own style. As you might expect, Shirley Beaudet painted children. In 2000, she entered one of her paintings, Les Mignonettes, in the Maison des arts competition and won first prize. This was the starting point for his recent creations of naive art. All of his paintings have a childhood theme and show children playing sports, making a snowman, or strolling in the woods.
